I got up early this morning without using an alarm and headed out to 24 to do 4 sets of 750m with 2 minutes rest. I've never done "long" intervals like that so it was an interesting experience. My times were 3:05, 3:00, 2:57, and 2:51. There's no way I could have done the 2:51 for all 4 but I'm thinking the 3:05 could have been faster. I also realized that I really need to warm-up, probably 1000m. This morning I only did 300m as a warm-up. Not so great...see the 3:05. :)
Then this afternoon/early evening I had done laundry and cooked food for Monday-Wednesday but I was feeling completely on edge. I still needed to look at homework for periods 3 and 4 and Skunky was not cooperating. So I headed out to row some more and to go to Starbucks to look at those papers. I've been to Starbucks a lot this week, but no sugar, just non-fat milk. I need to lay off the caffeine soon. I did tomorrow's rowing tonight, so I can take tomorrow off, at least in the rowing department.
So 5,500m tonight. I closed my eyes and didn't look at the monitor for as long as possible. When I opened them I was at 3,600 or so to go. Ugh. I wanted to be a bit farther along. Oh well. I did take one break halfway through to fix the foot straps and drink some water. My time was better than yesterday...24:39.5. Yay.
About 30 minutes ago I was still feeling slightly out of control and cut up an apple to eat...which isn't really that big of a deal, but I had just eaten tri-tip, brussels sprouts, and cucumbers. I was not hungry. I always cut an apple into 6 slices. I ate one slice, took out the trash, and thought about the apple on my way back inside. I'm asking myself if the apple is going to lead to other things, like more apples or going out to get sugary food of some sort. I decided no. I decided to write here instead and then I'm probably going to bed...at 8:53. Whatever, at least I can write day 7 with no sugar = done!...and no out of control eating of apples either. Thank God...literally.
