LA Marathon

I started training last night for the LA Marathon which is Sunday March 9, 2014.  I will be 35 years old.  I will be an aunt.  I will be ready.

Tonight as I was jogging 3 miles, my legs were done from a leg workout at the gym earlier.  I wanted to get my 3 miles in though so I set out.  I was tired.  My legs felt heavy.  There was no spring in my step.  That was alright though.  I told myself, "Just keep going".  That worked.

Let the adventure begin.

Rita it's on days like this and on weekends like this that I REALLY miss you.  I know you would tell me to go easy on myself, to be kind to myself, to not mentally beat myself up.  I'm so sad you aren't here to tell me those things.  Hugs.

Ben's Birthday

Today is my brother's birthday.  He is in Michigan and I am in California.  I'm not sure when I'll get to be with my brother on his birthday again.  On Tuesday this was a very depressing thought.  But I sent him a gift and I called today and sang Happy Birthday.  And then I took a really long nap.  He called to say hi.  I'm glad he did.

4 days

We have had 4 days of school.  I am teaching 3 different courses and 6 periods total.  From 7:30am until 2:35pm, it is constant teenager.  I forgot how draining that can be.  It is also immensely rewarding.

I went to the gym late tonight and after it took me 5:36 to do a workout that most people did in under 3 minutes, I am annoyed.  It took me 1:36 to do 10 bar hop burpees.  One dude did the ENTIRE workout in 1:29.  WTF?  Ahh, I am done being overweight.  I'm annoyed.  Usually my annoyance leads to motivation.  We'll see.

Birds and more Birds

They were awesome.  We looked at a Bird Sanctuary today where birds that get hurt are fixed.

We also went to the Florida Holocaust Museum but no photos were allowed inside.  I learned a lot at the Holocaust Museum.  I'm glad we went.

Rain and a lot of it

Within an hour of landing in Tampa it was raining!  Wow!  Then there was lightning and thunder.  Very different and very fun.

Vacation Part 3

Woohoo, I am ready for the third part of summer.  I get to see new friends and my brother!  The change of pace will be nice and I'm really looking forward to the next 2 weeks.  New adventures, here I go.
